Caprice Orange Red Stock – Building for a brighter future.

Caprice Orange Red Stock - Building for a brighter future.

We couldn’t resist posting about Orange Red Stock CBP-CAP-DVMO-DVMA. A fabulous example of just one of the 34 stunning Caprice bricks in the Camtech Premier Range.

Constructed in 1900, the picturesque Christ’s Hospital College is a local landmark in Horsham, West Sussex. This remarkable building designed by Architects Sir Aston Webb and Ingress Bell incorporates many design features from the original building at Greyfriars, Newgate Street, London.

The building exudes tradition, with the Orange Red brick facade central to its appeal. Any redevelopment or expansion of the Grade II* listed building needs to harmonize perfectly in function and form into this picture-perfect scene.

So, when NRAP architects and ARJ Construction were selected to redevelop the schools’ original Grade II* listed kitchen and build a new commercial kitchen and food technology classrooms on the first floor. They enlisted Camtech’s help to supply the perfect brick for the facade.

Naturally, all demolition and construction work needed to be done sympathetically, and Caprice Orange Red Stock bricks provided the perfect interface to the existing historic water tower and dining halls.

Orange Red Stock from the Caprice factory; This soft mud brick has a stock & sanded texture. A combination of two special bricks. The orange and red colours blend to give a bold and distinctive look – A creative balance of colour with a crisp stock appearance.
